Mariana Satterly of Oconee County High School and Patrick Carton of North Oconee High School were recently named STAR students for their respective schools. Mathematics teachers Joseph Palmour of NOHS and Paula Whitmire of OCHS were selected as STAR teachers. The STAR students and teachers were recognized by the Board of Education on February 8.
Eight Oconee Middle School students were recently selected for the Georgia Middle School All-State Band. This number represents not only the most students selected in OCMS history, but also the most of any middle school in Georgia.
